Decisions.

The toughest decisions are the ones that provide the most impact in life. Whatever the short term results - temporary pain, humiliation, friction from others; it's not meant to last. What's lasting is the path to your destiny. Every decision, good or bad will lead you to where you need to be.

At the very least, it will teach more bout who you really are, and that's the key to making great decisions - knowing yourself and your truest core values.

With so much to look forward to this year, the past shall not hamper me from enjoying the present. Coming up are more exams, my fyp, presentations, thesis writing and exams again! At the end of it all, GRADUATION! I.can't.wait!

I don't know where to start. I miss talking to you. The times when I could just pick up the phone and call without having to think that I'm disturbing. A place to leash out my anger, frustrations or just share stories. I feel myself closing in, confining my thoughts to myself more. Or maybe, I've been thinking/hoping too much lately.

Micro-blogging?

I've succumbed to the latest social network, Twitter and obviously abandoned my blog.

BUT, how much can a 160 characters say? Hence, the multiple number of tweets a day. Moreover, applications such as Tweetdeck and Nambu (been using it since I switched to Mac) makes it so much more convenient.

Summer break is HERE!!!

Finally, done with exams and the proposal! And, if it all goes well *fingers crossed*... I still have a year of studies left! Ican'twaitforallthistobeover!


Monday, 31st May 2010... Printed the proposal, got it binded, submitted it to the faculty office and off I went to pack my room in 30 mins! Spent 3-long-weeks on campus without going home is TORTURING! Especially when it came to FOOD!

So, plans were made for BR31 ice-cream... to meet up with the bunch I haven't met for ages and the end of Year 2.

Tapao-ed two pints and went over the Nasi Kayu Kandar to eat and catch up with each other.

Clocking in at 2am, I'm blogging to refresh myself.

4 more papers to go and FYP proposal dateline extended by 3 days! (3 days is ALOT and there goes the whole of May)

Next paper is Plant Developmental Genetics and I'm currently studying Floral Development... The ABC model, floral mutations and so on.

Two more submissions,
One Final Year Project proposal,
5 papers for the semester exams.

Summer plans are still hanging...I'm too lazy to get started with internship applications and I need to ask my FYP supervisor on my project plans. There might be a possibility of me starting my FYP during summer :S.

Approximately 13 months to the end of exams!14/15 months to graduation :)
The finishing line is just around the corner :P

But...
there's still so much work left to do.

As a student, its never easy trying to balance work and play. Time is always insufficient for both!

I think I'm drifting away too far.

It's been too long of a journey and the end is just around the corner. I've been telling myself to stay focused in order to achieve what I aimed for. It is definitely not an easy task but its not impossible to achieve. I need less distractions and more motivation. I know I can do this. :)


Self-motivating rant...

Was clearing photos and came across this, taken a few weeks back at the farm. It's wings are so delicate and the legs are so graceful!

Piano Theory Grade 5 exam is on Monday morning! There's still so much to memorize! And the worse part is that I have to rush back to campus after the exam for a practical class. Hopefully next week would be a good one, in terms of productivity and activities :)

Happy Belated CNY!

I was missing from the blogosphere for quite some time. Been busy with courseworks, exams and now its halfway through Semester 4 already. I abandoned the Project 52, after a few weeks.

The workload of the UK education system is suicidal, no joke. It starts off with 6 modules a semester, 12 weeks of lecture, 2 weeks of study break, 2 weeks of exams, a few days break, a new semester, another 12 weeks of lecture, 2 weeks of study break, 2 weeks of exams and 4 month long Summer break! In between the lecture and study weeks, we have to slot in the Malaysian Public Holidays.

Anyhow, the past 5 weeks of Semester 4 have been all about fun. CNY was great, all the munching obviously made me put on weight! Its hard to resist all the cookies that only appear once a year. :)

And the extra cash that we get :)

Along with the card game I love most :)

And since CNY is over, the fun stops. Last semester's results were okay, gotta work a whole lot harder this semester. There's too much to do!

Light Painting

Light painting aka light drawing or light graffiti is a technique in which involves long exposures to moving light in the dark. Light sources are usually hand-held to draw images in space and captured by the camera as moving lines/ drawings.

Exam mode

So much to read, so little time!

First paper on Monday (11th January), Plant and Cell Physiology B. Followed by 5 other modules! 6 modules to sit for isn't easy! Wished there was another dissertation module this semester. Will be done with exams on the 20th and the following semester starts on the 25th! 3 more semesters to go! Can't wait till all these is over!~

Gonna get back to studying right now, updates shall come after the 2oth!

Its that time of the year where we set new goals, resolutions and let go of the past to move forward to a better year ahead.

Hey all,

I just completed my Pathology poster. I never thought designing this poster would take me so many hours! The usual posters takes an average of 2 to 3 hours. This took at least 24 hours but I'm happy with the outcome. Looks really neat! :)

Till the end of the semester, I'm still left with a 1,500 words critique to write on, the poster presentation and Research Techniques in Plant Science mini-project. After that, there's the holidays to enjoy and the exams to prepare for.

Update...

I'm alive...

Courseworks are draining every bit of soul left in me. Next week is gonna be hectic! Debate on Monday, 1500 words submission on Tuesday and Mauritius Project Proposal and Presentation on Friday alongside dreadful meetings and lectures. I might not make it till the end of the week!

Shall enjoy the weekend while I can...Sunday meetings are -_-"!

Smell the November air!

Two submissions due on the 17^th of Nov accompanied with tonnes of journals to read up on, a debate to prepare for, and 7 other courseworks that are due by the end of the semester. And they say Uni life is easy. One thing for sure… Not in mine! I basically quit all SA associated activities, clubs and societies and even a break from SMC. Its coming to Week 6 and the stress level just got higher. I foresee the next 2 weeks being pretty much the same. Sleepless nights, burying myself in journals related to intra-specific competition & growth analysis, salt tolerance, inter-cropping of Sugar Cane in Mauritius and Analysis Markers. There is plenty more besides the ones mentioned. I’m pretty nervous about the GM debate and the poster presentation.

What did I just get myself into?

Shall get back to work now! I don’t have much time left.
